Proposed Improvements

  • New roadway paving.
  • Sidewalks; curb and gutter repairs & replacement; driveways, bump-outs.
  • Geometric improvements of Madison St and Edison Hwy intersection.
  • Signal reconstruction at N. Milton Ave., N. Lakewood Ave., N. Linwood Ave., and Edison Hwy.
  • Traffic signal analysis and design of a new signal at N. Kenwood Ave.
  • Streetlight repairs and LED upgrades.
  • Landscaping (expanded tree pits & trees).
  • New signing and pavement markings.
  • Storm drain inlet replacement and repairs.
  • Mass transit bus pads and bus stops.

Will residents and businesses still have access during construction?

Yes. Any minor inconvenience will be coordinated, and at least one travel lane will be maintained.

Will public transportation still run during construction?

All bus stops will be maintained, and no impacts to the MTA bus schedule are anticipated.

What challenges will the project face?

  • Federal Aid Process (may take time).
  • ROW clearance for new sidewalk construction (may take time).
  • SWM & ESC approval process (may take time).
