What is this project about?

We're launching a two-phase safety study on W. Fayette St between N. Fremont Ave and N. Payson St. This study will help us design both short-term and long-term improvements to make the corridor safer for everyone.

Where is this happening?

The study focuses on W. Fayette St from N. Fremont Ave to N. Payson St in Council District 9.

What will Phase 1 include?

Phase 1 will focus on the following high-crash intersections:

  • W. Fayette & N. Fulton St.
  • W. Fayette & N. Mount St.
  • W. Fayette & N. Monroe
  • W. Fayette & N. Stricker St.
  • W. Fayette & N. Calhoun St.

We'll present possible concepts to the community, stakeholders, and elected officials. Each intersection could see up to two types of improvement treatments. Examples might include curb extensions, new pavement markings, or upgraded signage.

What about Phase 2?

Phase 2 builds on Phase 1 with long-term, permanent safety upgrades. Through extensive community engagement and technical analyses, BCDOT have developed three draft concept plans:

How can I stay involved?

We'll be engaging with community members, elected officials, and stakeholders throughout the project. Subscribe to this page for updates and opportunities to give feedback, and take our survey below!
